CanSkate 5+
CanSkate 5+ is Skate Canada’s Learn-to-Skate Program for children ages 5 - 12 yrs. Participants earn badges/ribbons while focusing on three fundamental areas (agility, balance, and control) divided into six stages (music, warm-up, lessons, challenge exercise, fast track, and cool-down) for an exciting and fun group program.
Skaters work on CanSkate Stage 1 & 2
Skaters are evaluated during the first couple of classes & placed into groups based on age & skill levels.
Skaters must be 5 years old by Mar 1st
5 yrs old - Which class is best to begin with?
CanSkate 3+ - Has never been on skates, needs assistance to stand or move forward, or looking for a short, fun, game-filled introduction.
CanSkate 5+ - Has some skating experience, can stand & skate forward on their own, or looking for a bit more of a challenge with fun skill-based circuits?
A CSA-approved Hockey helmet is mandatory
No Bike or Ski helmets allowed
